Our Story /
Well-being is in our DNA.
When our founder, Bess O’Connor, was in preschool, kids would line up to receive “healing sessions” from her during storytime. After exploring music studies and the full spectrum of the performing arts at the world-renowned Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Bess was called back to the Healing Arts after graduating high school. Deeply immersing herself in the study of Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Alternative Medicine, and other sacred wellness practices, she became a certified Holistic Health Practitioner and began working at The Chopra Center, where she was a Healing Arts Master for over eight years.
After meeting the love of her life and becoming a mother to her beautiful children, Bess made a conscious decision to work from home to spend more time with her family. Following her Chopra Center departure, Bess began writing for various media outlets, sharing her knowledge of all things wellness from her unique perspective as a first-generation Asian American.
A few years later, Bess was invited back to The Chopra Center to spearhead the sponsorships division at Chopra.com. In this role, she discovered a new love for intentionally connecting and partnering with like-minded people for the greater good. This became the catalyst for the creation of what would eventually become Well Spirit Collective.
Over time, her passion for wellness-centered, mission-driven, and ethical brands spawned connections with media, thought leaders, tastemakers, content creators, and influencers, all with the intention to make the world a healthier place.
Today, our team includes a dynamic roster of more than a dozen women and BIPOC creatives who help brands and talent connect to tell stories, enrich lives, and encourage whole-person wellness. “The Collective” proudly share their authentic selves with brands and talent in all the work we do.
